Watching You
So this post is a day late, because I have been packing and moving all week and haven’t had time. Then when I had time to do it I found out that I don’t have any internet. So here it is.
The other day I was listening to my favorite radio station, 101.5 FM, and I heard my new favorite song. It’s called Watching You by Rodney Adkins. I asked my dad to listen to it, because I have a goal to find songs that he and I both like. So I played it for him and he interrupted the song and said that he has already heard the song and it’s one of his favorites. So I’m going to share it with you.
Drivin’ through town just my boy and me
With a Happy Meal in his booster seat
Knowin’ that he couldn’t have the toy ‘til his nuggets were gone.
A green traffic light turned straight to red
I hit my brakes and mumbled under my breath.
His fries went a flyin’, and his orange drink covered his lap
Well, then my four year old said a four letter word
It started with “S” and I was concerned
So I said, “Son, now where’d you learn to talk like that?”
Chorus:
He said, "I’ve been watching you, dad ain’t that cool?
I’m your buckaroo, I wanna be like you.
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are.
We got cowboy boots and camo pants
Yeah, we’re just alike, hey, ain’t we dad?
I want to do everything you do.
So I’ve been watching you."
We got back home and I went to the barn
I bowed my head and I prayed real hard
Said, “Lord, please help me help my stupid self.”
Just this side of bedtime later that night
Turnin’ on my son’s Scooby-Doo nightlight.
He crawled out of bed and he got down on his knees.
He closed his little eyes, folded his little hands
Spoke to God like he was talkin’ to a friend.
And I said, “Son, now where’d you learn to pray like that?”
Chorus:
He said, "I’ve been watching you, dad ain’t that cool?
I’m your buckaroo, I want to be like you.
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are.
We like fixin’ things and holding momma’s hand
Yeah, we’re just alike, hey, ain’t we dad?
I want to do everything you do; so I’ve been watching you"
With tears in my eyes I wrapped him in a hug.
Said, “My little bear is growin’ up.”
And he said, “But when I’m big I’ll still know what to do.”
"‘Cause I’ve been watching you, dad ain’t that cool?
I’m your buckaroo, I want to be like you.
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are.
By then I’ll be strong as superman
We’ll be just alike, hey, won’t we dad
When I can do everything you do.
‘cause I’ve been watchin’ you."
hey yeah
uh huh

Eventful Week
This week has been a very eventful week. There have been so many things that went on. First, my dog had her puppies, hung out with Brenna Sorenson, the Davis High Marching Band beat American Fork, and I had another marching band competition.
My dog, Daisy, had her puppies early Tuesday morning. I asked my mom to not wake me up if she had them that night because I had a marching band competition that fallowing day. When I woke up my mom informed me that Daisy had indeed had her puppies that morning. I went in to see the new puppy. She was the cutest thing ever! She fits right in my hand it’s 2 so cute. Then on Saturday we took her to get her dew-clawed and had her tail sniped, in other words its 1 tail had to be cut off. Because they are so small, they have to get their tails cut so it won’t 9 be so big on them. It’s funny when she tries to play with the other dogs’ toys. When I’m gone it’s my parents’ responsibility to watch her. Her eyes and ears aren’t even opened yet. It will be another couple of days before they start to open. We were told that the Jones 3 family wants to buy her. Lucy will be the Jones’s 5 dog. I asked my mom what the Jonses’ names were, but she didn’t know. So in the mean time the she will just keep getting bigger and bigger.
On Tuesday, I had a marching band competition at BYU. On our way, there Garret, a person in my section, was showing me all these pictures on his 6 iPod, and laughing at me because I didn’t get what it was trying to portray. However, when we got there I was happy and ready to do the show. When we were on the field, I performed my best field show that I have ever done. In the end it paid off. When the judges were announcing the winners, they announced American Fork as 2nd place we went crazy. Since they got second, it meant that Davis High came in first place. We were so, so, so happy! Davis High hasn’t beaten American Fork for 5 years until now. On the bus ride there everyone had so much fun. So when we got there we were pumped and ready for the show. The show really fun to perform and to make it even better we receive first place! Marching band is the best.
Then on Friday, night Brenna and I hung out, and watched a movie and ate pizza. We were planning on watching a scary movie but we couldn’t figure out what movie to watch so we watched Thor. That night was so much fun. I showed Brenna Lucy, our puppy, and she just loved her. She held Lucy during the entire show. She kept saying that she wished Lucy was hers 6. Every night should be as much fun as that night.
I had another marching band competition Saturday night and this time it was at USU. That competition was also really fun. When the awards were announced we didn’t do as well as last time... We placed 2nd and ‘American Fark’ placed 1st. We made a lot children’ mistakes... Man, we thought we did so good. But apparently the judges didn’t think the same way as we did. It was still so much fun. J
Wow my week was really jammed pack with fun nights. My dog had her puppies, I hung out with Brenna and I had two marching band competitions.

Driving
A couple weeks ago I obtained my driving permit. Driving has always been an excitement for me in my life. For as long as I can remember I have always been counting down. From the years then as time passed it was only months then only days until I could drive. I didn't get my permit on my birthday because I had marching band with Davis High School. Then my parents were at work and didn't get off until the DMV place had closed. So it took me a whole good two weeks until I could get my permit.
When I was filling out the paper work and doing all the tests I was more worried about not passing the eye examine more than the driving test itself. Even though I had only skimmed through the driving book. Anyways when I did the eye exam/ test I passed with flying colors. Well I guess not exactly with fly colors but you know what I mean. So after the paperwork was all done I was sent to go take the test. The test was on a touch screen computer thing, I’m not sure how to explain it, you will just have to see for yourself. So I completed the test and I got 86% on my first time. The lowest you can get to pass is 80% so I did well enough to get my permit.
My first time driving I took my little brother to his soccer game. My dad didn’t feel comfortable with me doing left hand turns on busy streets so he drove on the busy, main streets and then let me take over once the traffic was less traffic. I only drove a little bit that first day but it was really, really, really, really, really, and many more “reallys” fun.
I have gotten a lot more practice sense then. I have driven on busy and congested roads, but I don’t want to drive on the highway or the freeway just yet, I know that I’m not ready for that. But I did go 35 m/h once and that my friend was just about the funniest thing I have ever done. I can’t wait until I can drive on the freeway and the highway. I wish this song was on the radio one of the times I have been driving it would have been so cool.
Well, life's like a road that you travel on
There's one day here and the next day gone
Sometimes you bend, sometimes you stand
Sometimes you turn your back to the wind
There's a world outside every darkened door
Where Blues won't haunt you anymore
For the brave are free and lovers soar
Come ride with me to the distant shore
We won't hesitate
To break down the guarding gate
There's not much time left today, yeay
Life is a highway, I wanna ride it
All night long
If you're going my way, I wanna drive it
All night long
Through all these cities and all these towns
It's in my blood and it's all around
I love now like I loved you then
This is the road and these are the hands
From Mozambique to those Memphis nights
The Khyber Pass to Vancouver's lights
They knock me down
And back up again
You're in my blood
I'm not a lonely man
There's no load I can't hold
The road's so rough this I know
I'll be there when the light comes in
Just tell 'em we're survivors
Life is a highway, I wanna ride it
All night long If your going my way,
I wanna drive it All night long
Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, yeah
Life is a highway, I wanna ride it
All night long (mmmm yeah)
If your going my way, I wanna drive it
All night long
There was a distance between you and I
(between you and I) A misunderstanding once
But now, we look it in the eye
Ooooo...Yeah!
There ain't no load that I can't hold
The road's so rough this I know
I'll be there when the light comes in
Just tell 'em we're survivors
Life is a highway, I wanna ride it
All night long (all night long, yeah hey)
If your going my way, I wanna drive it
All night long
Life is a highway, I wanna ride it
All night long
If your going my way, I wanna drive it
All night long
Life is a highway, I wanna ride it
All night long
If your going my way,
I wanna drive it All night long
Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, yeah
